The mission of the Rifle Fire Protection Disctrict is to enhance health and safety and to protect the life, home and property of the people we serve.
Rifle Fire Protection District is dispatched by the Garfield County Emergency Communications Authority, which is a countywide public safety answering and dispatch center. The district is also a member of a multi-county mutual aid agreement, aiding departments both locally and within the seven member counties.
FROM CHIEF MIKE MORGAN
The Rifle Fire Protection District is charged with providing numerous emergency response duties and related activities including but not limited to, fire, emergency medical, hazardous material, technical rescue, training, prevention, public education and administrative functions. In order to successfully complete these duties, the District operates as a combination Fire Department utilizing volunteer and career membership. Each individual within the organization is equally important to the success of our endeavors regardless of classification or rank. Positions are created and filled as a result of service demands and the Districts ability to safely meet these demands without creating excess burden on any category of our membership.
