DISTRICT INFORMATIONThe Rifle Fire Protection District is located in Rifle, Colorado along the Colorado River. The Rifle Volunteer Fire Department was created in 1907; and was absorbed into the Rifle Fire Protection District when it was created in 1976. Today the Rifle Fire Protection District is a combination department, responsible for all fire and EMS responses, in a steadily growing rural area.

DEPARTMENT PROFILE
The Rifle Fire Protection District is dispatched by the Garfield County Emergency Communications Authority, which is a countywide public safety answering and dispatch center. The district is also a member of a multi-county mutual aid agreement, aiding departments both locally and within the seven member counties.
